Use sempre conversor de mídia com propagação de link-beat (derruba os dois lados se qualquer um deles estiver sem portadora) e *sem* switch-chip do lado de dentro.  Pelo menos ESSE problema, além de problemas L2, não vai ter (mas vai continuar a ter outros, como queimar à toa).
