[MASOCH-L] Problema com mount hgfs

Amigos,

      Estou com dificuldades usando vmware-tools no Red Hat 5.2. Eu 
instalei a última versão (VMwareTools-3.5.0*.i386.rpm), porém, sempre 
que executo o comando mount -a , ele me mostra as seguintes mensagens:


[root at server ]# mount -a
Error: cannot mount filesystem: Protocol error

/var/log/messages
kernel: VMware hgfs: HGFS is disabled in the host

/etc/fstab
# Beginning of the block added by the VMware software
.host:/                 /mnt/hgfs               vmhgfs  
defaults,ttl=5     0 0
# End of the block added by the VMware software

    Como faço habilitar o hgfs ?
    Alguém sugere alguma coisa?

     Li algumas coisas, tais como (

), porém como consta nesta url, não entendi como funcionará, pois 
teoricamente já estou com a versão mais atual.


PS.: Este erro só começou após a instalação do vmware-tools, pois ele 
acrescentou no fstab as informações do hgfs.
