[GTER] Sessão eBGP é IGP ou EGP ?

Olá.

Estive vendo nossa tabela de roteamento e não entendi uma coisa.
Porque o Cisco/Quagga seta as rotas aprendidas via sessão eBGP como IGP ?
Qual é o conceito por trás disso ?

Se eu setar essas rotas como EGP, qual diferença faria ?
Eu tenho de fazer isso manualmente, por route-map ?
Porque o próprio bgp não faz isso ?
