Estou com o mesmo sintoma aqui, tive de tirar qualquer uso de 8.8.8.8 e 8.8.4.4.
Sempre retornando SERVFAIL.

Ninguém mais sentiu esse problema?

8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2 are returning SERVFAIL from our downtown Los
Angeles datacenter about 80% of the time at the moment.  Other public
DNS servers seem to be happily returning what they need to.  Anyone
else seeing this?
